Police on patrol spoke to a member of the general public who discovered the feminine canine on Parry Road on Thursday morning.
With no signal of an proprietor, officers took her to a close-by vets the place no registered particulars had been discovered on her microchip.
Police then contacted the canine warden who is about to move the animal to kennels in Portsmouth if no proprietor comes ahead.

In an announcement on their Facebook web page, a police spokesperson stated: “Whilst out on patrol this morning (Thursday, September 28), a member of the general public got here to talk to us.
“They knowledgeable us that they situated this lady exterior their property on Parry Road, Sholing, Southampton.
“We have taken her to the vets and while she has been microchipped it has not been registered and now we have been unable to find her proprietor.
“We have contacted the Southampton metropolis canine warden who might be accumulating her and taking her to their kennels in Portsmouth.
“If this is your dog please contact the Southampton city dog warden.”
