South Boston dog training business owner charged with animal cruelty

The owner of a defunct dog training and boarding business in South Boston is dealing with animal cruelty charges for presumably abusing 3 dogs consisting of a Golden Retriever he was looking after in November 2020, records reveal.

Tyler A. Falconer is charged with 3 counts of animal cruelty by a custodian, which are felonies, and 3 counts of incorrectly tethering or restricting an animal, misdemeanors, according to South Boston Municipal Court records. Falconer, 30, is a Burlington citizen, records reveal.

Falconer was the operator of the once-popular Falco K9, which he closed previously this year after customers declared on social networks their animals were damaged while under his care. The Animal Rescue League of Boston, which has cops powers in animal cruelty cases, obtained the criminal charges on May 4, records reveal.

A spokesperson for the ARL validated their examination produced the charges versus Falconer, however referred concerns to Suffolk District Attorney Kevin R. Hayden’s workplace.

Falconer is scheduled to be arraigned on the 6 charges on May 31, and veterinary records detailing the health effect on the 3 animals are not openly available up until then, according to the South Boston Municipal Court clerk’s workplace.

The available records consist of statutory language for each charge, however not the particular actions or inactiveness Falconer is implicated of.

– On Nov. 18, 2020 and for other days not defined in court documents, Falconer presumably abused a Golden Retriever called Sawyer. The male dog was around 7 years of ages.

– On Feb 10, 2023, and other days not defined in court documents, he presumably abused a male Rhodesian Ridgeback called Watch. The dog was around 6 months old at the time.

– On Feb. 16, 2023 and other days not defined in the court documents, he presumably abused a three-year-old female Cane Corso called Luna.

According to WCVB-TV, Falconer is wed to traffic anchor Katie Thompson.
