CHESTER, CT (WFSB) – A coastline dog adoption non-profit is out countless dollars after a burglar took its trailer over the weekend.
It took place Sunday early morning on River Street.
The trailer comes from Homeward Bound CT, an organization that assists link dogs with brand-new households.
One of those dogs is Jack. He’s a 1.5 years of age Shih Tzu mix who requires to discover his permanently home.
“He came from one of our rescue partners in Pennsylvania,” Homeward Bound CT board member Becky Epperson said.
Jack will likely discover a brand-new, caring family since of the work Homeward Bound does.
“We’re just a bunch of volunteers who all have families and full-time jobs,” Board member Lindsay Santanelli said. “We do this in our spare time.”
The group relies greatly on contributions and kept the majority of them in their trailer. It had about $3,000 worth of materials in it.
“Folding chairs, tables, we had all of our signage, banners, dog water bowls, food bowls, we’re still trying to compile a list of everything that we lost,” Santanelli said.
The volunteers state the burglar attempted to take a various trailer initially however didn’t have much luck. So, they linked the Homeward Bound trailer rather and removed quickly prior to 5:00 a.m. Sunday.
“The trailer itself is worth about $2,000 and luckily that is insured,” Santanelli said.
Santanelli and the other volunteers think the burglar might have sought the trailer itself and not always the contents.
The contents were required for the upcoming Chester Dog Fair, which runs September 16-17. The occasion is developed for dogs to have a good time and satisfy other animals. It’s likewise a chance for companies like Homeward Bound CT to link adoptable dogs with brand-new owners.
