MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A shelter canine has earned the title of Memphis’ soon-to-be First Dog after she was adopted by the newly-elected mayor of Memphis and his household.
Mayor-elect Paul Young promised his youngsters that the household would get a canine after his election marketing campaign.
After his win, they went to Memphis Animal Services (MAS) to seek out their latest member of the family, and that’s after they discovered Cali.
The Young household fostered to undertake, then determined to make it official.
MAS continues to be battling a massive influx of dogs and puppies resulting from a spay/neuter deficit skilled by shelters and rescues nationwide.
As of Thursday, a verify of the MAS web site exhibits over 300 dogs available for adoption.
