Seven cross pug puppies have been discovered deserted in a moist cardboard field in New Tredegar. The eight-week old pups have been discovered on a mountain cross in Blaenau Gwent on October 31 earlier than they have been handed to the vets.

The puppies spent a time period on the RSPCA Merthyr Tydfil Veterinary Clinic, and have now been transferred to The Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home. They have been named after sorts of bushes – Ash, Chestnut, Fern, Hazel, Maple, Oak and Willow.

Ebony Poole, animal operations lead, at The Cotswolds Dogs and Cats Home, stated: “All the puppies love sharing the smallest mattress they’ll discover – and all seven one way or the other squeeze in there!

“They’re now often called the ‘tree litter’ as they’ve all been named after sorts of bushes. They’ve settled in nicely, and are inflicting puppy mischief already!”
