SAINT ANTONIO – A 2nd arrest has actually been made after a fatal dog attack on the West Side declared the life of an elderly guy and hurt several others, according to authorities.
Abilene Schneider, 31, was detained Wednesday afternoon and is charged with attack by unsafe dog leading to death and injury to a senior.
Officials said her arrest is based upon brand-new proof that reveals she and her partner, Christian Alexander Moreno, 31, shared custody of the 3 dogs.
To date, Moreno is still being kept in the Bexar County Jail and is dealing with the exact same charges as Schneider.
The attack took place last Friday in the 2800 block of Depla Street, off Highway 90 and Cupples Road.
Police said the dogs left their lawn and were strolling complimentary when they assaulted Ramon Najera, 81. He and his better half, Janie, were checking out somebody in the community when the event took place.
Najera passed away from his injuries and Janie and 2 others were required to a location healthcare facility for treatment. All 3 were launched since Saturday.
The 3 dogs, referred to as American Staffordshire Terriers, had a history with San Antonio Animal Care Services over the last 2 years due to problems from next-door neighbors. They declared the dogs were “estray and neglected,” according to authorities.
All of the dogs were euthanized Friday night and Saturday.
