The Scottish SPCA has issued an attraction to trace down a person who was captured on CCTV beating a canine exterior a store in West Dunbartonshire.
The animal welfare charity desires to search out the black and white collie to examine on its wellbeing.
A member of the general public witnessed the incident, which occurred in Clydebank’s Montrose Street on 10 October.
The Scottish SPCA mentioned the person tied the collie up exterior the premises after which headed inside. He then instantly ran out and slapped the canine thrice, inflicting the pet to “cower” and fall on its facet.
When confronted by a passer-by, the person was mentioned to have claimed the canine was chewing on its lead and this was the explanation for hitting the animal.
The man then went again into the store and when he returned exterior the collie was mentioned to be “visibly frightened”.
Laura McIntyre, Scottish SPCA chief inspector, mentioned: “We are eager to hint the gentleman captured within the CCTV and ensure the canine is okay.
“The canine he had with him is a black and white collie and gave the impression to be comparatively young from the video footage.”
The man is described as blonde, tall and lean, and in his early to mid-20s. At the time of the incident, he was sporting a navy-coloured hoodie.

Ms McIntyre added: “From the enquiries we’ve already carried out, we imagine he’s native to the realm.
“No animal must be subjected to bodily violence and this isn’t the right strategy to prepare any animal displaying undesirable behaviour.”
