Loose Women’s Ruth Langsford was left in tears over a psychological Coronation Street story.

Ruth Langsford was comforted by her Loose Women co-stars when she thought of the idea of biding farewell to her cherished dog, Maggie.

The host was signed up with by panellists Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter and Frankie Bridge as they talked about a recent Coronation Street story.

The plot included Evelyn Plumber, played by Maureen Lipman, having to make the difficult decision to put down her pup Cerberus.

As Ruth began speaking about the story, she destroyed and said: “I can’t bear it.”

Coleen then included: “Oh god you’re really going to weep. It’s not even your dog, it’s acting.”

“I understand,” Ruth responded while drying the tears from her eyes, continuing: “But you understand I’m an enormous Corrie fan.”

As Ruth started to weep, Coleen explained: “That’s since you’re considering Maggie.”

Ruth and spouse Eamonn Holmes embraced their dog 13 years earlier from the charity Dogs Trust.

“Yes!” Ruth responded, continuing: “I was enjoying it and Maureen Lipman has actually composed today that the comprise individuals in Corrie said to her.

“’Do you need a tear stick to help you cry for the scene?’ And she was like absolutely not because sadly she had to have her own dog, Diva put down.”

She added: “I can’t see through the tears here. She said it brought it all back of having to make that awful decision.

“My little Maggie is about 13, she’s a bit grey.”

Coleen asked: “Shall we speak about something else? I feel a bit bad speaking about mine and not sobbing. Anyone who does not have a dog, does not get it they’re family.”

“I didn’t get it prior to I had Maggie,” Ruth confessed, prior to confessing she doesn’t understand how she’d cope without her pooch.

Coleen then got up and hugged her friend, with Ruth stating: “Don’t you’ll make me even worse!”
