LEESPORT, Pa. – An animal rescue group desires responses.
Rescuers state somebody left a dog for dead near Leesport this previous weekend. The dog’s puppies did not make it through.
“This is the worst that I’ve seen left for dead,” said Lakin Harmon, creator and president of Zoe’s House Rescue. “She was actually tossed out like garbage. Her and her children.”
Sadie’s story is a difficult one to hear. She was discovered in rough shape Sunday night near Bellemans Church Road in the Leesport location.
“When I state rough shape, she could not stand,” Harmon said. “She could not raise her head, like she would stay up and she would tip over.”
Sadie was rapidly required to an emergency situation family pet center in Lancaster.
“The veterinarian was available in and said, ‘She’s actively attempting to pass away’,” explained Harmon.
She was offered some fluids and sugar and livened up a little. Caregivers identified she had actually been through a lot.
“We recognized that she had mastitis and a raving uterine infection from just recently having puppies and from all of that her body was septic,” Harmon said.
Her puppies were found in the very same basic location hours after Sadie was discovered. They were dead and incorporated a garbage bag.
Caregivers state Sadie is making sluggish development and her case is under examination.
“This dog is really unique looking,” said Harmon. “She had a macrame collar on. We think she’s a ‘pitty’ mix, she’s a black and tan brindle. Somebody understands who owned this dog and we wish to bring justice to her and her children.”
