RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 29-year-old Reno male confronts 6 months in prison after he was founded guilty of animal ruthlessness for whipping and tossing his dog onto a downtown walkway prior to a passerby stepped in.
Washoe County district attorneys initially charged Dennis Glenn with one felony count of willfully or maliciously abusing, impairing, mutilating or eliminating a dog or cat.
A jury eventually convicted him of a lower count of misdemeanor animal ruthlessness. Judge Barry Breslow is scheduled to sentence him on March 30.
Police state they were contacted us to First Street in downtown Reno near the Truckee River about a battle in development last April and identified it had actually begun after a male saw Glenn beating his 2-year-old pitbull, Abando.
Police state monitoring video revealed Glenn punch the dog numerous times prior to getting the animal, tossing it throughout the street onto the concrete walkway and once again punching it numerous times.
Police state the dog didn’t reveal any hostility, was observed trembling and attempting to flee.
A justice of the peace previously discovered Glenn unsuited to own the dog and county local animal services positioned the dog in a brand-new home.
