I had my recently rescued terrier conquered and pinned by 2 large dogs at the Chetzemoka dog park today. I had my back turned and was attempting to lock eviction when I heard snarling and yelping. I needed to bring up the collar of the big brown Doodle to get it off my dog.
In the meantime, I got informed by the owner of said dog that it was MY fault since “my energy was bad.”
Let’s discuss the basic guidelines of owner/dog rules at the dog park: Let the inbound owner and their dog have adequate space when they show up. Keep your dogs far from the door as individuals show up. Do not permit huge dogs to surround an individual prior to they’ve even had an opportunity to come in eviction. If you do NOT have voice command over your dog, you shouldn’t exist. If your dog attacks smaller sized dogs, they need to never ever be allowed the dog park system here. And when you see your dog assaulting another dog, attempt and accelerate your speed to save the scenario instead of roaming and blaming.
I am still attempting to conquer my shock at this owner’s total neglect for other’s safety. You wish to talk bad energy? The next time I see your dog, there will be Mace in my pocket.
