First there was Ricardo the bull on the tracks, and now there is a train-riding canine.
NJ Transit commuters have seen their share of runaway animals. During Thursday morning’s commute, a wayward canine boarded an NJ Transit practice.
The canine was noticed at Mountain Station in South Orange at about 7:52 a.m. and rode the practice to Hoboken Terminal whereas following a commuter who was not its proprietor, NJ Transit police posted on X, previously Twitter.
So far there was no success to find an proprietor. The canine has no microchip or collar with identification.

Animal Control took possession of the canine from NJ Transit police, and it will likely be taken to the Humane Society in Jersey City.
NJ Transit Police tweeted on Friday that the canine’s proprietor has not been positioned: “Let’s get this pup HOME!”
Anyone with details about the canine or its proprietor is requested to name NJ Transit police at 800-242-0236 or 973-378-6565.
