ELK PLAIN, Wash. – On Jan. 2, six puppies have been present in a soaking moist field on the aspect of a freeway in Pierce County. One of these puppies was discovered wrapped in a plastic bag and did not make it, and its siblings at the moment are getting crucial care on the Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County (HSTPC).
The puppies have been heard crying and have been discovered by a group member alongside Highway 7 in Elk Plain, a city simply southeast of Spanaway.
The surviving siblings have been experiencing extreme vomiting and diarrhea once they have been found– vets on the shelter stated they have been sick and torpid and all examined optimistic for parvovirus. Parvovirus is a lethal and contagious virus for dogs that impacts the gastrointestinal tract. If left untreated, it could actually trigger a painful loss of life.
The shelter’s veterinary crew is offering crucial care, and administering remedy, fluids, and meals.
