West Monroe, N.Y. — A dog owner was detained Monday after authorities took his dog that had to do with 30 pounds underweight, cannon fodders said.
Chance, a chocolate labrador that is 6 or 7 years of ages, was discovered Feb. 10 in the yard of a home in West Monroe, Oswego County, said Trooper Jack Keller, a state authorities representative.
Chance remained in a removed addition to the home that was filled with feces and urine without any access to food or water, Keller said. It appeared the dog hadn’t been let outside in months, he said.
Chance was instantly taken and his owner, Byron D. Phillips, 38, was later on charged with worsened animal ruthlessness, Keller said. If founded guilty at trial, he confronts 4 years in jail.
Highland Animal Hospital in Central Square took Chance in and treated him for different medical problems, Keller said. The dog is anticipated to make a complete healing and be embraced, he said.
Phillips is scheduled to appear in Oswego County CAP court in March, Keller said.
