Chief Inspector of Neighbourhoods in CoM Central Chris Boyd, said: “It is simply not appropriate to enable a dog to be in a vehicle by themselves for even a number of hours, not to mention 3 days.
“When we discovered him, there were no open windows and, with it being rather warm today, this might have wound up a catastrophe. Dogs do not react to the heat like people do and as such, this beautiful dog might have overheated.
“Even leaving a window open or a bowl of water is unsatisfactory. Just do not leave your dog on it’s own in a vehicle. If you are intending on being far from your vehicle, then do not take the threat and leave your dog at home.”
