PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Another canine was apparently deserted at Pittsburgh International Airport, Allegheny County police stated Thursday. 

Police stated round 1:16 p.m., officers have been known as a couple of canine that was tied to a pole and gave the impression to be deserted within the short-term parking storage. 

Officers stated they untied the canine, who gave the impression to be in good situation.

“There is not any excuse for leaving your pets behind,” police stated in a Facebook put up. 


In an update late on Thursday, police stated they need to determine a person in reference to the case. Allegheny County police stated on social media that they consider “he was a ticketed passenger that hung out contained in the airport earlier than leaving the canine within the short-term parking storage previous to his flight.”

The canine is not microchipped, and police stated they’re actively investigating who left it behind. Anyone with info is requested to name the county police tipline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. 

It seems to be the second canine deserted on the airport in recent months. A Kittanning woman is facing charges after police stated she left her canine in a stroller close to the doorway to the airport’s short-term car parking zone in August. 

Investigators stated 44-year-old Allison Gaiser boarded a flight to a resort in Mexico and left the canine behind after she could not get a boarding move for an “emotional help animal.” 

A male French bulldog was allegedly deserted by his proprietor at Pittsburgh International Airport on August 4, 2023. The proprietor has been charged with animal cruelty.

Police have stated that canine is doing nicely and is being fostered. Animal Friends has stated it was “inundated” by individuals in the neighborhood and even throughout the nation providing to undertake the canine after listening to about his story however the consequence of the case will decide the place he goes. 

A proper arraignment for Gaiser is scheduled for Dec. 1. She’s dealing with a misdemeanor depend of animal cruelty, together with abstract violations of animal cruelty, animal neglect and abandoning a canine inside the state.
