You’ve most likely seen and heard the stories of very first responders encountering burning structures to save individuals who might be caught within.
But it’s not simply human beings who require their help. Tragically, some animals get left when an unexpected blaze surpasses a structure in simply a matter of minutes, leaving little to no time at all for escape. But thankfully, there are those who put their own lives at threat to make certain our four-legged homeowners get their correct attention and care.
Officer in Westchester Saves Dog in Burning Building
The Ossining Police Department published on their Facebook page that a person of their officers “braved a heavy smoke condition in a burning building” to save a dog that was still within. Ossining Police said that Officer DaSilva ran inside the burning building to rescue a dog called Cujo.

Police Rescue Dogs in Westchester County
The Yonkers Police department shared on their Facebook page that a set of officers from the 3rd Precinct discovered a set of lost huskies back in February. A 3rd officer helped with the rescue and both dogs were gladly reunited with their owner.
The 2nd case including a discovered dog is even sadder.
Yonkers Police Aid found a young pit bull connected to a tree near Smith O’Hara Levine Park. Police said the dog might have been outside all night in freezing temperature levels. Police said the dog is now in the care of Friends of Yonkers Animal Shelterand if nobody declares him in a week, he’ll be installed for adoption.
So, ideally, this case of overlook can have a happy ending.
