The police command in Osun on Sunday in Osogbo warned canine homeowners to cage their pets or danger arrest.
Yemisi Opalola, the spokesperson for the command, stated that the warning turned essential following the growing price of canine assaults on individuals within the state.
She stated in a press release that permitting dogs to roam unrestrained violates the Dog Act Cap 35 Law of the Federation of Nigeria.
The police spokesman defined that it’s an offence “if any dog gets loose and bites anybody outside the compound”.
She stated based on the legislation, dogs ought to be vaccinated, duly managed and never be set free to chew passers-by.
