The Kent Police Department mentioned an elderly medium-sized rescue canine was left home alone, which was regular. She normally spends her day sleeping by the window to have the ability to bark on the leaves. When the canine’s proprietor acquired home, the home grew to become crammed with pure gasoline.

“It’s a safety issue that most of us haven’t seen before. A little bit of Googling later and it turns out this actually happens more than we knew,” mentioned a spokesperson, in response to KIRO.

This formally well-behaved dog was smelling residual food smells from the previous night’s dinner,” police mentioned. The canine had gotten onto the range to steal some meals that wasn’t there and hit the gasoline range knob and powered it on. Fortunately, the proprietor may hear the range clicking when he acquired home and was capable of flip it off instantly.

The proprietor opened all of the home windows to get the odor out, police mentioned. Both the proprietor, the canine and their home are OK.

“If you have a dog that has any chance to reach those knobs and loves their snacks, (or curious toddlers) consider getting child-proof knobs for your gas stove,” mentioned a spokesperson, in response to KIRO. “Holidays mean excited pets and children visiting your homes. It’s a good time to buy these gadgets that are not too expensive.”
