Dax, a veteran Lake County Sheriff’s Office police canine and among the many high within the nation, stays beneath the care of a veterinarian after being injured Sunday in the course of the apprehension of a fleeing felon.
Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, police have been pursuing a car about 11:55 p.m. Sunday when the motive force, a 16-year-old male from Zion, struck a division squad automobile, in line with Lake County sheriff’s police.
The driver continued and crashed the stolen automobile within the 41000 block of North Green Bay Road in unincorporated Zion after which fled on foot, police mentioned.
Sheriff’s K9 Dax and his handler, Deputy John Forlenza, have been referred to as to trace the fleeing driver believed to be hiding in a wooded space, in line with Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Chris Covelli.
The teen surrendered after being bit by Dax within the torso space, in line with Covelli, and was handled for the chunk at a hospital. Charges are pending in Illinois and Wisconsin, Covelli mentioned.
