Merseyside Police say they’re persevering with to research this night, Monday 22nd January, after an unknown white substance was present in a park space near Childwall Valley Road.
The investigation comes after a report from a veterinary surgical procedure at round 2pm that a variety of dogs had been delivered to the surgical procedure after falling sick after ingesting the substance.
Two of the dogs later died, one is critically sick and a fourth one continues to be handled.
CCTV, house-to-house and witness enquiries are being carried out within the native space and assessments are being carried out to ascertain what the substance is.
The space is presently cordoned off and pedestrians are suggested to keep away from the realm whereas the incident is being handled.
Chief Superintendent Jonathan Davies stated:
“Whilst the incident is clearly of concern I need the general public to be reassured that the matter is being handled and is beneath management.
“We would advise individuals to keep away from the realm as we search to ascertain what the substance is and the way it received there.
“Anyone who believes they have been within the space and got here into direct contact with the substance is suggested to hunt medical help in the event that they consider they’ve suffered any sick results.
“We would always advise anyone who comes across an unknown substance to not touch but to report it to police.”
