A neighbourhood in Bedford is on edge after a pair of canine assaults that killed two household pets in separate incidents in West Bedford over the weekend.

Neighbours say the animals concerned have been pit bulls.

Halifax Regional Police verify the primary incident occurred round 1:40 p.m. Saturday afternoon.
