RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. (KABC) — A pilot and his canine swam to shore late Sunday afternoon after a small aircraft made an emergency touchdown in waters off Ranch Palos Verdes, authorities mentioned.
The aircraft crash was reported shortly earlier than 5:30 p.m. close to the Trump National Golf Club, in keeping with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The incident occurred after the plane sustained a “catastrophic mechanical failure,” a Fire Department spokesperson mentioned.
The aircraft ended up fully submerged within the ocean waters, its location later marked by responding lifeguards.
No main accidents have been reported. News video from the scene confirmed each the pilot and his canine walking unassisted.
Federal Aviation Administration investigators are anticipated to reach on the scene Monday.
