When it’s time for Doug Norton’s dogs to launch some steam, they arrive right here.
“I have a German Shepard and a Doberman, and they’re very high energy, and they just love to run and be active,” he stated.
Norton says he’s a daily on the Joe Station Dog Park.
“I generally come here 3 to 4 times a week,” he stated.
But when he and his dogs tried to return on Monday, they had been met with upkeep vans and a locked gate.
“It was closed yesterday, and they got out here and replaced the fence,” he informed one other canine proprietor.
City employees changed it due to a criticism made to Tulsa Parks on Sunday a few extreme harm to a canine from wires protruding of the fence.
As of Tuesday morning, the town says the fence is mounted, and all trash litter was picked up.
“That would mess a dog up. I remember he got under a fence one time,” stated the opposite canine proprietor.
The metropolis says they weren’t conscious of the broken fence till they obtained the criticism.
“As long as the city did something about it after something happened, I understand these kinds of things can happen, personally,” stated Norton.
And because the park welcomes again its guests, Norton commends the town’s good response to a foul scenario.
“That was very quick action on part of the city,” he stated.
The metropolis encourages individuals to report unhealthy park situations to 311 to keep away from one other harm like this from taking place.
