An eastern Ontario man is advocating the general public’s help after his truck was taken in a hectic parking area, with his dog inside.

The event took place south of Ottawa Wednesday early morning, at a mini-mall parking area in Iroquois, Ont.

That’s when David Borovoy faced the Foodland to get tooth paste, leaving his truck running outside with his 11-year-old dog, Diesel, within.

“I came out of the Foodland and believed somebody was fooling me,” Borovoy remembered. “Being like somebody got in my truck and moved it.”

However, he quickly recognized the vehicle had actually been taken, in addition to Diesel, his mobile phone, wallet and passport.

“Everything remained in that truck and last night was not a simple night, I can inform you that,” Borovoy said.

“I simply desire my dog. I do not care about the truck at all. I do not care about the ownerships in the truck. The just thing I appreciate is the dog,” he said.

Borovoy called the OPP around 10:50 a.m., who state the truck was last seen heading west on Highway 2 towards the traffic circle.

After more than 24 hr, cops state they have no leads on the truck or the missing out on dog.

“This automobile burglar was rather brave in leaping in a truck with a German shepherd and removing with it,” OPP Const. Justin Dickson said.

While the 125-pound dog would normally be a terrific anti-theft gadget, Dickson says they continue to examine, and asks anybody with info to come forward.

“Even if we are entering into the store for simply a couple of seconds, we are motivating vehicle drivers constantly lock your vehicle, do not keep prized possessions inside and make certain you have your secrets with you, make certain it’s secure,” Dickson said.

Borovoy says he has actually not slept for more than 30 hours and has actually driven numerous kilometres around the area searching for Diesel.

He says the search will continue till the German shepherd is discovered.

“My concern is, ‘Why would you take the dog?’ Why would not you kick him out and leave him there?” he said.

“As long as I can get the dog back, keep the truck, I do not care,” Borovoy said.

He says Diesel strolls with a limp and was using a vibrantly coloured collar with PC Pets on it, and has amber eyes.

“This dog is a really well-travelled dog. We go boating, I have a sailboat, the dog goes boating with me all over. This dog is connected to my hip,” Borovoy said.

The missing out on truck is referred to as a silver 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 4×4 with a tonneau cover, and a Surgenor logo design on the tailgate.

“I ran in and I chose to keep the truck running for the dog since it wasn’t hot the other day and I simply figured it would be much better to leave the vehicle run for the dog, so he would be comfy,” Borovoy said.

“Apparently, that was a bad concept since somebody simply strolled up, got in my truck and entrusted the dog in the truck.”

“I simply hope someone can discover him, or if you’re the individual who has my dog, drop off my dog off someplace I can discover him,” Borovoy pleaded.

“Bring him to the Foodland or the gasoline station. You can be confidential. Just bring me the dog. I do not care about the truck,” he said.

“Whoever has actually taken my dog you have actually destroyed me in more methods, that’s all I can state.”

Anyone with info on Diesel or the missing out on truck is motivated to call the OPP non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers 1-800-222-TIPS.
