OSCEOLA COUNTY — Dog homeowners can have extra choices for licensing their furry pets beginning in 2024, after the Osceola County board of commissioners accredited a decision to authorize year-round canine licenses throughout its assembly on Nov. 7.
Per the decision, the Osceola County treasurer’s workplace will now supply one-year and three-year canine license renewals coinciding with rabies vaccination dates.
Osceola County treasurer Tonia Hartline instructed the board that there are members of the neighborhood who wished the choice to buy canine licenses similtaneously they renew their rabies vaccination.
“Currently, the county sells dog licenses that expire in December and have to be purchased by March 1,” Hartline mentioned. “With the new method, they will expire at the same time as the rabies vaccination. We have a lot of people coming in that would like that option and a lot of them that would like the three-year option. The (state) statute requires that we come before the board to change that mechanism.”
