An Oklahoma mom has pleaded responsible to taking pictures and killing her teenage daughter whereas aiming for a stray canine.

Amanda Myrene Fields Moffett, 43, was convicted in court docket this week of the tragic 2018 taking pictures of her 16-year-old daughter Laramie. 

The taking pictures unfolded on October 5, 2018, exterior the household home in Nowata, Oklahoma, after Laramie warned her mother a stray canine was attacking kittens close to their property.

Moffett admitted to being ‘grossly negligent’ in her plea settlement, acknowledging she did not test on her daughter’s whereabouts earlier than opening hearth. 

‘I went out onto my entrance porch and discharged a handgun at what I believed was the stray canine,’ Moffett wrote in her federal plea settlement. 

‘When I discharged the firearm, it was darkish exterior, and I knew [my daughter] was exterior of my home attempting to avoid wasting the kittens from the canine. I didn’t confirm that [my daughter] was not in my line of fireplace after I discharged the handgun.’

The mom added that firing the gun was the ‘direct and proximate trigger’ of her daughter’s dying.
