GLENDALE, Ariz. (Gray News/TMX) – A German shepherd was just recently rescued from a canal in Arizona when law enforcement officers coaxed it with a newly baked pumpkin muffin.
According to the Glendale Police Department, officers reacted to the call on June 17 after an individual reported seeing a dog swimming in the canal without any method to get away.
Body electronic camera video programs Officer Sorenson climbing up in the water, however the tired dog was “skittish” and would not concern him. One officer asks another if there is any food available to draw the dog.
“Try this, it’s my wife’s pumpkin muffins,” Officer Downey says, opening a bag of homemade treats and handing one to Sorenson.
The muffins “were just the bribery needed for this little pooch,” the cops department said.
The video programs Sorenson, now equipped with a muffin, drawing the dog more detailed and securely pulling him out of the water by his collar. Once on land, the dog got to delight in some more muffins for his problem.
The dog – who was not hurt – was reunited with his owner, who lived down the street, cops said.
