CITY OF FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WBAY) – The Wisconsin Department of Justice and Division of Criminal Investigation are investigating an officer concerned capturing that occurred Saturday, October 14.
Fond du Lac Police and County Deputies with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance round 6 a.m. on the five hundred block of Drury Place within the City of Fond du Lac.
When officers arrived, they encountered a person sitting inside a car. Shortly after this, gunfire was exchanged between a sheriff’s deputy and the person.
The man was pronounced lifeless on scene following the capturing resulting from accidents he sustained.
A Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Canine was shot and critically injured. The canine is receiving vital care at a veterinarian hospital. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office say in an update within the afternoon following the incident that the K9 stays in critical however steady situation. The canine acquired life-saving therapy on scene, throughout transport, and on the veterinary hospital from a surgical procedure crew.
