NYPD officers responding to a canine struggle within the Bronx shot and killed one of many dogs after it charged at them, in response to police.
Police obtained a name round 4:15 p.m. reporting a “vicious dog attacking people” outdoors of 470 E. 161 Street in Melrose, cops mentioned.
A pitbull was in a struggle with one other canine, sources mentioned. When a male witness tried to separate the pair, the pitbull attacked him.
When cops arrived, the pitbull “charged” at them, in response to police.
Officers shot the canine, killing it.
Cops have been taken to an space hospital by EMS to obtain a tetanus shot.
The male witness had minor accidents to the arm and he refused medical consideration on the scene
The NYPD Force Investigation Division, which handles incidents involving officers discharging their firearms, is investigating.
