Police have launched an investigation into an incident which happened in a popular dog-walking park at the weekend.
Gi Ellis was walking her dog at the weekend in Heartsease Recreation Ground when an off-the-lead bulldog came and jumped her and her canine companion.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses who saw the attack.
A police spokeswoman said: “We can confirm we have received a report a dog was allegedly attacked by another dog during an incident on Heartsease Recreation Ground, Sale Road, Norwich at around 11.30am on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
“Enquiries are ongoing.
“Any witnesses or anyone with information should contact Sergeant Ian Betts on 101 quoting 36/96402/22.”
Owner Gi said that more needs to be done by dog owners to understand how they communicate with each other.
The 53-year-old said: “People need to learn about dog behaviour – they have their own personalities like people do.”
