A canine trapped by the excessive tide on Hampton Beach throughout Thursday’s storm was saved by a quick-thinking New Hampshire couple.
Sarah Rydgren and her boyfriend Michael Kent of Kensington, NH, went for a drive Thursday night to see the waves alongside the coast.
Rydgren hopped out of the automotive on Ocean Boulevard to take a better take a look at the towering waves. As she neared the steps all the way down to the seashore, she observed an old Wesley trapped on the rocks.
“I couldn’t believe my eyes,” stated Rydgren. “The dog was so white he was blending in with the waves as they were washing over the rocks. I just screamed.”
Hearing her scream, Kent jumped into motion and rushed down the steps towards the canine and into the frigid water. He known as for the canine to run in the direction of him.
“I looked to the right and saw another massive wave coming in,” Michael stated. “The dog wasn’t touching the ground anymore, so the dog started pulling back. That’s when I grabbed the collar.”
Rydgren caught the incident on digicam and stated the canine almost certainly would’ve been swept out to sea if her boyfriend hadn’t grabbed the yellow lab.
The two stated they had been supplied a towel by a neighbor, and rushed the canine to a close-by animal shelter.
“The dog was violently shaking, panting and there was blood on the towel,” Kent defined.
The mom of the proprietor met the couple with the canine on the animal shelter. Kent and Rydgren stated she was in search of Wesley all day.
Kent added, “She tearfully hugged us.”
Rydgren credited Kent’s expertise as a veteran for his fast pondering.
