Newark Dog Dies From Injuries, Georgia Woman Charged – First State Update

On May 9, 2023, Syniah Percell, a 25-year-old citizen of Marietta, Georgia, turned herself in to the Newark Police Department.

Percell was charged with felony Cruelty to Animals in connection to an occurrence including a Yorkie dog that had actually sustained extreme injuries and consequently passed away, according to Lt. Andrew Rubin of the Newark Police Department.

Rubin said the department received a report of a hurt dog simply after 3:00 pm on April 28, 2023. Officers right away reacted to a home in the 100-block of Thorn Lane, where they discovered the hurt Yorkie dog.
