The Jack Russell Terrier, named Dave, had been spooked by a firework round 9pm on Hogmanay.
It had already been the busiest 12 months but for the Northumberland volunteers – with 80 call-outs recorded earlier than the latest alarm was raised.
But they have been shortly on scene – supported by their colleagues from Eyemouth Coastguard staff.

Taking up the story, a spokesperson mentioned: “We positioned the proprietor of the canine and have been in a position to pinpoint Dave’s precise location – as he fortunately had a tracker connected to his collar!
“We despatched a staff onto the seashore to attempt to find Dave, and he was swiftly discovered on the base of the cliff, shaken and no worse for his ordeal apart from minor grazes to his paws.
“Once again to the cliff high, Dave was re-united together with his proprietor and was away home to recuperate.
“A contented ending to our 12 months, and likewise for Dave’s household who will little question be glad about his protected return home.”
