SB 942 likewise includes public housing to the law.
Currently, many public housing authorities in the state have limitations on what types of dogs can reside in an advancement. Often on that limited list are types like Pit Bulls and German Shepherds.
While the expense still permits public housing authorities to have limitations, those limitations cannot be based upon size, weight or breed alone.
Dog limitations have actually resulted in over-crowding in animal shelters and developed housing concerns for animal owners. The expense intends to reduce that over-crowding and develop more housing alternatives for owners.
