New Dog Park in Moundsville Will Stay Open During Winter | News, Sports activities, Jobs

Moundsville resident Jayla Speece and her dogs Max and Molly on Friday take pleasure in the brand new canine park located close to the playground at Riverfront Park.

Moundsville’s new canine park is open and anticipated to stay open by the winter months for pet house owners to make use of.

The canine park is a part of Riverfront Park and located beside the playground space, close to Jackson Avenue and 14th Street. There are two fenced-in areas – one for bigger dogs and one other for smaller dogs.

On Friday afternoon, a pair pet house owners had been profiting from the hotter climate and introduced their dogs to the park to play and train.

“It’s nice to have it in the community; we’ve been wanting it for a while now,” Yeater stated. “He likes to work together with different dogs. He’s our solely youngster so this provides him a chance to play and get out.

“I hope we start getting a crowd down here and they start making some best friends to hang out with,” she added.

Moundsville City Manager Rick Healy stated residents had been asking for a canine park to be created for a couple of years. He famous the park has been properly obtained up to now.

“The cost was around $25,000, mainly fencing. In the spring we will add a water pump at the entry and some benches,” he stated.
