Florida residents who personal dogs with histories of a number of assaults could also be required to purchase legal responsibility insurance coverage if a brand new invoice is signed into regulation. Florida State Rep. Bobby Payne, R-Palatka, launched HB 873which handed 14-0 within the Local Administration, Federal Affairs & Special Districts Subcommittee.
A “dangerous dog” is outlined as canine that has both aggressively bitten, attacked, endangered or has inflicted extreme damage on a human being, has greater than as soon as severely injured or killed a home animal whereas off the proprietor’s property, or has, when unprovoked, chased or approached a person upon the streets, sidewalks, or any public grounds in a menacing style or obvious angle of attack.”
The invoice requires homeowners of such dogs to acquire legal responsibility insurance coverage protection of no less than $100,000 to cowl damages and accidents ensuing from an attack.
