Neighbour slams RSPCA canine cruelty response after ’20-plus calls in 4 years’

The RSPCA has defended its response to canine cruelty complaints linked to a Stoke-on-Trent handle – after one neighbour says they made greater than 20 calls to the charity in 4 years. The neighbour says they first raised their considerations in regards to the property – on South Walk, in Meir – with Stoke-on-Trent City Council six years in the past.

They say they then began contacting the RSPCA about the identical challenge again in 2020. It is known that the RSPCA has beforehand spoken to individuals on the handle.




But it wasn’t till this week that the RSPCA secured a Staffordshire Police warrant to get contained in the property.

It got here two days after StokeonTrentDwell had questioned the RSPCA’s response to the complaints. Three dogs had been seized from the property throughout Wednesday’s operation.

The neighbour mentioned: “I felt that no-one was listening, particularly with the RSPCA. I’ve been so let down. All these organisations are so fearful of being shamed by the media. I used to be the one voice for these dogs. I felt like I had energy. No-one was listening, no-one would take me severely till StokeonTrentDwell bought concerned. It’s heart-breaking.

“It’s a reduction that one thing is being achieved lastly. It’s only a disgrace it needed to be StokeonTrentDwell to be the one to do it out of each organisation that’s available. It’s scary.”
