Canine dining | Pet skunks | ‘Former’ crooks? | Biblical piss-take | Habits of only kids
Nell Frizzell’s post proved out in every regard (Why are pet owners more popular than parents?, 4 April). I value that food outlets have actually suffered or closed considering that the pandemic, however dogs of any size are obviously now invited in a lot of. I tread warily through coffee shops, concerned I will step on a dog’s tail or paw and sustain the owner’s fury. And trouble betide you if you challenge a coffee shop owner or dog owner – completely frightening.

He and his better half began the QEII and brought their family pet skunk (Pass notes, 29 March). It had actually been de-skunked – that need to have been legal then. I presume it required to be rabies-free.

• The war versus wee (The war against wild toileting: is there any way to stop people weeing – and worse – in the street?, 5 April) has scriptural authority. See 1 Kings 21:21: “Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall…” There are numerous other recommendations in Samuel and Kings.
