MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCSC) – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a person was reportedly attacked and bitten by a canine.
A 75-year-old man, whose identify has not been launched, has been cited with animal at massive, no rabies vaccination and public disturbance – animal attack.
A girl known as dispatch saying her husband was bitten on the face and each arms by a free canine on Autumn Lane in Moncks Corner round 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, a report states.
Once on scene, deputies caught up with the sufferer’s spouse who informed them the canine and the proprietor have been gone and she or he didn’t know the place they lived. EMS had already taken the sufferer to the hospital.
Witnesses described the canine as a “muscular, possible Pitbull or similar breed” that stood waist-high, the report states.
The sufferer’s spouse informed authorities the canine was not instantly aggressive towards them, and she or he heard the proprietor yelling “Hank” earlier than the attack. The proprietor was in a position to management the canine and left the scene when EMS arrived.
Deputies got info that the canine’s proprietor lived throughout the road from the sufferer on Wednesday. According to the report, the proprietor was unable to supply proof that his canine was updated on its rabies vaccine.
Deputies reported the attack to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, and the proprietor was suggested to maintain the canine in quarantine for 10 days.
