WASHINGTON – A Maryland girl was reunited together with her canine in Santa Fe earlier this month.
Roughiatou, a truck driver, was touring by way of Santa Fe when her 2-year-old canine Panfilo ran away.
Over two weeks later, Roughiatou noticed Panfilo on the web site for the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. The pup had been picked up as a stray, and obtained a full medical workup and care on the Santa Fe Animal Shelter.
Roughiatou flew from Maryland to Santa Fe to reunite with Panfilo.
“Stories like this make us all smile a bit wider and remind us that pets are actually household,” mentioned Pamela Weese Powell, Director of Philanthropy on the shelter. “We’re so grateful to be right here as a useful resource to households and to our neighborhood.”
