NEW YORK CITY — A dog and its owner made an eery discovery while on a walk on Staten Island Thursday afternoon.

Officials state a human hand was discovered near the North Mount Loretto State Forest in Pleasant Plains Thursday around 2:30 p.m., according to WPIX.
Officials with the city medical inspector’s workplace validated to the news outlet that it was a right-hand man.
Fingerprint analysis of the human hand discovered that it came from a 63-year-old female who passed away in 2011 at Resurrection Cemetery, WABC reported. The cemetery had to do with a mile far from where the hand was discovered.
It ends up the plot beside her tomb was excavated on Feb. 27 to a brand-new burial website, the news outlet reported. The female’s coffin was apparently harmed throughout the excavation procedure and it is thought that might explain why her hand was discovered by the dog.
Police state it is uncertain how the hand wound up a mile away, according to WPIX.
