CHICAGO (CBS) — A person shot and killed a canine after the animal broke free from an proprietor’s leash within the Albany Park neighborhood Monday night.
At 6:50 p.m., a 41-year-old man in a wheelchair was along with his canine, heading north on Pulaski Road close to Montrose Avenue. A 33-year-old man was on the sidewalk when the canine broke from the proprietor’s leash and approached the younger man, police stated.
The 33-year-old man took out a gun and shot the canine, police stated.
The canine’s stays have been taken to a close-by veterinarian, police stated.
The canine was reportedly muzzled.
The man who shot the canine, a sound Firearm Owners Identification Card and Concealed Carry License holder, was not charged or cited.
