A person has been arrested after one other man was severely injured in a canine in Sunderland, Northumbria Police stated.

A big police presence was on the scene on Wednesday morning, with officers stationed in Maple Terrace and neighbouring Lowerson Avenue.

Around half of Maple Terrace was cordoned off in conjunction with the road which overlooks a grassy space common with canine walkers.

One man stated he had heard concerning the attack, and {that a} window had been damaged throughout the incident.
