ROHNERT PARK, CA — A person who died after being struck by a car in Rohnert Park on Sunday whereas he was walking his canine has been recognized by the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office as Andrew Kenneth Lujan, a 61-year-old resident of Rohnert Park.
Lujan’s canine additionally died within the collision. They have been hit by a Lexus sedan at about 7 a.m. Sunday as they crossed Rohnert Park Expressway close to the rail crossing on the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit station.
Lujan was in cardiac arrest within the eastbound left lane when Rohnert Park public security officers and paramedics responded. Despite life-saving measures, he died on the scene.

The driver stayed on the scene and was cooperative with the investigation, which decided that medicine or alcohol weren’t components.
Investigators stated Lujan was crossing north along with his canine in an space that was not well-lit and amid heavy fog when the collision occurred.
