Washington, D.C., police arrested a person accused of carjacking and assault amid an argument over his canine and a ride-booked car.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) arrested Dax Franco Willis, a Northeast D.C. native, on expenses of unarmed carjacking and theft, according to a news release from the MPD Thursday.
Authorities stated that the ride-booking driver picked up Willis early Sunday morning within the 300 block of Eastern Avenue NE.
Willis, 19, tried to carry his canine with him into the sufferer’s ride-hailing car, however the driver advised Willis that his canine will not be allowed within the car. According to police, Willis then threatened to mace the feminine driver.
Willis and the ride-hailing driver engaged in an altercation during which he assaulted her, dragged her from the automobile, took her cellphone and fled the scene driving the sufferer’s car, authorities stated.
CBS affiliate WUSA reported that D.C. police recovered the victim’s stolen vehicle on Southern Avenue SE, close to East Capitol Street SE.
Authorities arrested Willis three days after the incident.
