A man cautioned a dog owner to not have “anybody in your house” after putting their dogs through a ‘dreadful’ and ‘agonizing’ ear-cropping treatment.
Joshua Ryan Kwiathawski, 25, and Jamie Evans, 30, pleaded guilty to enabling the prohibited practice to be performed on their bull-type dogs Riga and Ace after officers took messages in between the set talking about concealing the animals to prevent being reported. The court heard that the RSPCA realised after authorities took Kwiathawski’s phone in an unassociated offense, which included images of Ace with cropped ears. Speaking after sentencing, RSPCA inspector Emma Dingley said: “Ear cropping is a dreadful practice which has definitely no advantages for the dogs and can trigger them long-lasting health, behavioural and social issues.
