HARALSON COUNTY, Ga. — One individual was apprehended after deputies found a number of animals at a Haralson County home weren’t getting appropriate care.

It was Sunday when the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office was contacted us to a home on Cherokee Circle in Buchanan relating to possible animal cruelty.
When deputies got here, they consulted with animal control and were apparently informed there were problems that animals were not being taken care of at that home.

The constable’s workplace said deputies discovered a dead Great Pyrenees that appeared to have actually been dead for a number of days, a 2nd Great Pyrenees that looked extremely malnourished, and an unidentified breed of puppies running around the backyard that were so thin, their ribs were revealing.
Deputies reported that as they made their method around the backyard, they saw numerous pens with numerous animals, a few of those pens, had no food or water, and another pen had a green-colored liquid in a little swimming pool however no food.
There was apparently one duck walking around the pens, which deputies said appeared like it had a hurt wing and feet.
Apart from the dead Great Pyrenees, there were a dead duck and chicken, the constable’s workplace said.
Haralson County authorities said there was no yard in the backyard, however there was scrap and garbage laying around.

At the time, when authorities went to the home, the house owner was not there.
On Wednesday, deputies apprehended Christopher Meixner at the home and charged him with exacerbated animal cruelty and animal cruelty.
The constable’s workplace said the animals were eliminated from the property.
“This is a terrible case of animal cruelty,” states Sheriff Stacy Williams. “If you own an animal, whether it be livestock or domesticated, it is your responsibility to care for them. We will not put up with animal cruelty in this county.”
