A lady in Maine is recuperating after she was bitten by a black bear in her yard.
The female was bitten when she got in between her dog and the bear, which had actually been chasing her animal – and punched the bear in the nose.
The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said the 64-year-old female was gardening in her yard Friday early morning in Porter, which has to do with 45 miles northwest of Portland on the New Hampshire border, when the attack occurred.
Her dog began barking and removed into the woods, authorities said, and the female went to examine when she heard her dog yelp.

The female called 911 and was dealt with for her bite mark.
