NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A felon forbidden to personal a gun was arrested Sunday after police say he shot and killed a canine in Madison.

Officers had been dispatched to 110 Archwood Place Sunday following a report of a person with a weapon. When they arrived on scene officers discovered a useless canine with an obvious gunshot wound, police stated.

Several witnesses informed officers completely different tales about what led as much as the canine being shot, however one girl informed police her husband, Brian Keith Kimbrough, was accountable, in accordance with an arrest report.

Officers met up with Kimbrough at Skyline Medical Center, the place he was being handled for an harm brought on by the canine, in accordance with the report.

During their investigation, officers found the gun was stolen, so Kimbrough was taken into custody. He had beforehand informed police it was his spouse’s gun, police stated.

Kimbrough was charged with theft of a weapon, weapon possession by a felon, and making a false report.
